Padlocks

Back on the old forum I had posted a question about the padlocks that you can often see while climbing the stairs to many of the mountain temples around china. Finally found out why people put them there. Aparently couples will take a new lock and often have something engraved on it and then while climbing the mountain, they attach the lock to the railing and throw the key over the side to symoblize the permanant and unbreakable bond. Not sure if this is the real reason, but it sounds good.
